Mr & Mrs Hopps, Meanwood, Leeds – a double storey extension to the rear and side of the property & internal alterations
1 June 2011
Project Requirements:
The Hopps family live in a modern detached property, which had a conservatory to the rear and a garage, at the time used as an office, to the rear side. With the need for more space, a two storey extension was built to the rear and side of their property - effectively designed to be built around the garage, which was to remain in its location.
The new extension increased ground floor space by 50%, and helped create an airy open plan living area comprising of a kitchen and utility area, dining room, and an attractive sun room with patio doors, opening onto a patio and the gardens beyond.
The extra space on the first floor allowed for the creation of an additional bedroom, as well as increasing the size of the third bedroom, making the property a much sought after, 4 bedroom family home.
Interior works included the installation of a new fitted kitchen, new bathroom and an energy efficient central heating boiler, as well as new interior doors and door casings.
The floors were mostly replaced with a mix of laminate and solid wood flooring, finished with skirting boards and architraves.
Project Outcome:
The works were all carried out within the agreed time scales and budgets. The house was occupied throughout the work, but clear communication between us as the builders and the customer ensured that works progressed smoothly.
What Mr & Mrs Hopps said about More Build:
